自己當contractor並不是不用進行tax withhold 而必須依照規定file 1040ES (estimated tax) 否則會被罰錢很多新人房地產agent搞不清楚這點 造成幾年後被IRS罰很多錢 (前提是他是個成功的agent 有正常的收入)據我所知 台灣的稅法比美國簡單許多 而且政府直接用軟體幫你算 已經全部電子化 所以幾乎不可能出錯或有解讀上的誤差 所以不太可能需要主動退稅給繳稅者

I’ve been trying to reach the IRS for weeks now and I always get the message “we are experiencing heavy call volumes” regardless of the time of day. If I don’t get my account settled, then I’ll be penalized, but now that it’s the other way around, they won’t answe because they know it’s not their fault. What’s up with not answering the phone?!! I understand a lot of people are calling, but this is beyond ridiculous!!!!
i have a Notice CP71A that I am to respond to the IRS every year regarding my father’s disability status but I cannot get anyone on the phone. Can I get a returned phone call from the IRS so I can comply with notice.
Two hours now – so incredibly ridiculous. People need jobs. Hire more people to answer phones. Wasted two hours.

I am currently on hold for over an hour now. I gather that I need to be on another hour. I just want to pay my bill and I have gone through the automated system which says that I cannot pay and have to call.
Due to the executive order issued in January to reduce the workforce the IRS was prohibited from bringing in the majority of their seasonal employees, hence there is no one to answer the phone. The ones that are there often receive mandatory overtime due to the lack o employees and are forced to work 70-80 hours a week. While that is never an excuse to be rude, it provides a little insight.
I don’t know why the irs takes 2 hours to answer and when they do answer the answer you all rude and answer your questions in a bad way I have had the worst experience with them I hope they straight them up cuz I just called because they have to fix my issue anyway so why even be rude

Why am I getting notices saying I owe money? All of our tax issues were included in our chapter 13 and paid off. The statement says we owe $271.00 but $525.00 with penalties, IRS seized our $395.00 state refund. How is that possible? I have phoned numerous times to be on hold for 2+ hours and no answer. IRS thinks people don’t have lives to live?
You people who work for the IRS and certain other government offices really SUCk! Are you all a bunch of high school dropouts or what? Why the hell am I on hold for over an hour now, reading the above comments of people who have been on hold for over two hours! AND, you do not reply to ANYONE’S comments, so I doubt you even read these comments. It is useless trying to reach you by phone and it is useless to even waste my time writing this comment about how inept you are!!! Shame on you!
Every time I call the IRS I am on hold for minimum 40mins. They have attitude once they do pick up and wonder why we the ‘consumer’ is so irritated. Unreal, no Customerservice training.

Personally been through wait times. I do think that most representatives are rude and do not have the customer service skills needed to deal with such a poorly run governmental system. I filed amended 2016 taxes in May. On May 22, 2017 they were received. I waited the full 16 weeks and got a code to call IRS. IRS tells me I have to refile and wait another 16 weeks. I thought I had a right as a taxpayer to know why I had to refile? I had no notification the first time and now I am in my 25th week of waiting for my return. They owe me what is rightfully mine. I bet if I owed them the amount they owe me my wages would have been garnished by now. Second time around I contacted Senator Patrick Toomey’s office for help. They assigned me a constituent who then got me a taxpayer advocate. I’m not sure if it is helping or not, but I think state Representatives and Senators should know the underlying tone of the United States taxpayers. I may add to this rant that this is not the first time this happened to me. In 2015, some code was passed for the Equal Opportunity Tax because Congress couldn’t make up their minds with a budget. Those that filed quickly that year missed the voted on code and waited for their regular taxes. I filed that year February 5, 2015 and did not receive my taxes until Memorial Day. Bottom line is if the public is frustrated, we then push the frustration onto the IRS representatives and that’s why they are rude. If the system did their job we wouldn’t have to be fighting to resolve issues on our own.
Have been waiting since February and still haven’t received my taxes. This is ridiculous and when you call your on hold forever. This is about the same experience then calling social security least they have a way to keep your place and call you back when it’s your turn.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told NO—- THERE IS NO ONE ELSE I COULD SPEAK TO other than the call answer system that has given me misinformation the last 6 times I’ve called regarding my refund

I was asked for info regarding permanent dis. I sent it to them. They sent a notice said we got it , nothing to do but wait for a decision!! Their decision is, start all over !! Irecieved the entire set of paperwork again as if it never happened!!!! Total wait ime so far ‘ 3 diff. days ttl. 7.5 hrs. still have talked to no one!
Still on hold….I am going right back to my tax accountant if this is not resolved and they remove the $3267 taxes for 2018 they are stating I owe them.
I have been trying for days to contact via phone (no options online can resolve my issue). I was told to call back Wednesday (today), and I have been trying every 5 minutes since 7 A.M. and go through about a 2 minute menu which results in the response “Our office is closed please call during our normal business hours 7 A.M. to 7 P.M.). Very frustrating, are there any other options?

4th time I have tried , today on hold now 11/2 hours, sent correspondence certified mail and still get the same form letters demanding payment which I do not owe.
It’s ridiculous to be on hold now for 2 hours. The IRS expects me to pay them back for something i paid out of pocket.
Attempting to obtain a transcript on line. Homeless and on Social Security. It can be done the recording insists all you need is a SS# or TIN#. Incorrect. You may not request a copy of your transcript on line – even if you are requesting proof of non-filing – without either: (1) a credit card; (2) an auto loan; (3) a home loan; or an online account (which you cannot obtain without one of the above). This is entirely discriminatory. So if you are to poor or do not have any of the above you may not request a transcript on line. Debit cards DO NOT qualify to use this system. Go figure why you need to essentially pass a credit
check in order to obtain a blank form or order your own transcript. The system is in need of repair. Waited on the phone twice now different phone number 2 hours. No more.

It is a shame and a ridiculous thing that this happens in the IRS office, since one begins to dial and press numbers, there is where the pain begins. I hate IRS workers because they are lazy who leave you in line waiting for hours and when they are finally going to answer you, the call is cut ,,, this is a pain
Was told I could fax the info its needs to file taxes on my dead mothers behalf. I’ve been attempting to fax for over a month now to always get a busy signal. What is going on? I may be past the time to file now. Which means they won’t give my sister and myself the refund due to us. Very frustrated!!

I haven’t filed taxes in like 10 years because I was on disability disability was screwing with me so much did I figure to get off and go back to work so I did I filed my taxes so they sent me letter about fraud because I haven’t filed in so long I sent him the papers they need they said I had to wait 9 weeks 9 weeks has passed they sent me another letter which I don’t understand now it’s another 60 days now this stuff going on in the world today I have no income no job and a 2 year old daughter I don’t owe them any money they owe me money I paid $500 to get my taxes done now I’m screwed I don’t understand how they can just keep money that I earned and make me wait longer and longer each time and now they’re talking about sending people money what is that going to take another hundred and twenty days this is not fair is really messed up now they won’t even answer the phone so I can ask questions about the letter that I don’t understand first it was fraud now it’s take an option or pick income income tax withholding tax credit or business income that has nothing to do with me or my taxes they should have no right to do this to people
They owe me $1600 and sent a letter about verifying my identity before I could receive my refund. Won’t let me verify on their website because I don’t have a credit card or any loans. No one answers the number listed on the letter. And every IRS office seems to be closed. What the hell are we supposed to do??

Kevin: Just seeing this post. The IRS is operating on reduced staff. You can call 844.545.5640 to set up an appointment at your local office, or the office that is closest to you, to verify your identity. Make sure you take ID and any tax documents that were requested in the letter. I recommend taking the tax return that you filed and the previous year’s return as well.
I am waiting to hear from the IRS regarding my installment payment plan request. I do not want to have any adverse actions (levy, lien, etc) and simply want to know what my status is. If further action is required, I will provide information or forms, etc.
Filed and accepted 4/7. TurboTax and standard deductions. Projected refund date 4/28. IRS still says processing return no status. Is anyone even working there?
